Unforgetful: Never Lose a Task
My productivity system has changed a lot over the years. Todoist has been my main task manager since 2017 or something. I've reconfigured that app many times and tried out other apps. However, I started recently using something that is really helping me, Unforgetful.
I listen to ATP, on Overcast of course, and one of the co-hosts and developer of that app Marco Arment, released a new app called Unforgetful.
He created the app to help him remember to do things; which I know sounds obvious, but I get it now. Since using this app the amount of tasks I know I would've forgotten if I hadn't put them into this app has become really apparent. I used to use my Todoist Inbox for tasks like these, but they would just sit there and be neglected. There's no constant reminder to do them if they remain incomplete like in Unforgetful. It will basically remind you over and over to do tasks forever to the end of time until you complete them. I've found that this is where I can legitimately dump tasks and forget about them with the comfort of knowing I won't actually forget them. It's freeing. I will get reminded of them eventually.
You can put date and time reminders on tasks, but you don't have to. That's the beauty of this app. It will still remind you if you don't put a due date! If you do want to set due dates, it has natural language parsing either through text input or dictation so you can add dates and times without manual input. Unforgetful lets you set default reminder intervals, choose a time of day to get bulk reminded, and configure other features.

Whenever I first listened to Marco describe Unforgetful, I didn't think it was for me. I didn't quite understand what this app was for, and I didn't think it would provide value in my life. I was fine with the productivity system I had it place. I was wrong. I don't have ADHD, but this app has been the most helpful app I've used in a while. As long as I've remembered to put it into Unforgetful, I haven't forgotten it. I've only been using this app realistically for a week and a half, but opening it as soon as I think of something I need to do has become second nature. I mostly use it on my iPhone, but the app is available on Mac and iPad as well, so you'll REALLY never forget anything. I genuinely think this app could help anybody in a positive way.
