You were such a timid, shy child. You never wanted to talk to anyone. I don’t know if you didn’t trust people you didn’t know, if you were scared; I don’t know. Over time, you slowly started making friends at school and at Sunday school. I was so happy to hear when you’d say, “I made a friend,” or you’d talk about someone else. I’d be like WHOOO?!
Your personality is really starting to blossom, and the confidence in yourself is growing. I’m so proud of who you’re becoming. You’re caring and warm and absolutely hilarious. I don’t know what I did to deserve you as a daughter, but I truly am blessed to be your dad.
You are now a graduate of 8th grade. That’s hard for me to believe sometimes; I was holding you just yesterday. Lake Castle brought out the best in you. It challenged you. It taught you lessons (thank goodness bc why we paying for dis). It gave you best friends. I can only imagine what Ben Franklin is going to do for you. I’m excited to see what you have in store for this world.
I love you, Laila.
